Home Décor

With temperatures having soared in Britain over the past couple of weeks, people are getting outside and making the most of their gardens. However, they are also keen to make an addition to their properties that will allow them to feel more connected to the outdoors even when they are inside – a conservatory.

Glazing firm EYG’s managing director Nick Ward told the Hull Daily Mail he has noticed a spike in interest in such buildings since the sun started coming out, with lots of residents in that area making enquiries. “When it’s nice weather, people start to think about making the most of their homes by improving their outdoor living spaces and so we are seeing more people ringing up asking if they can have these in time to enjoy this summer,” he explained.

The great thing about conservatories is that they are versatile – they can be made into everything from a relaxation space to a home office depending on what furniture and decor you use. However, if you are thinking of getting a conservatory fitted to soak up whatever is left of the British summer, it is important to have it specially adapted so it doesn’t get so hot you can’t stand to be in there. Many now have glass panes filled with argon that reflect excess heat, so making an extra investment in this is a great idea. Similarly, adapted glass will prevent the conservatory from turning into a freezer in the winter using the same thermal principles.

Don’t forget to look into made to measure blinds for the windows and even roof panes, as these will also help to keep the space cool as the mercury rises. Not only this, but they will also create more privacy if your neighbours overlook you and prevent your new furnishings from fading in direct sunlight.

Perfect Fit pleated blinds would be the ideal choice for the conservatory roofs and either Perfect Fit roller, pleated or venetian in the side window and doors. Check out the full range of window blinds for conservatories at your local Louvolite supplier.
